Indian female boxer, Nikhat Zareen won gold in the recent Boxing World Championship which was held in Istanbul on Thursday, 19th of May 2022. The female boxer defeated Jutamas Jitpong from Thailand by a unanimous decision in the finals.

Falling under 52 kg category, Zareen has been the first one to represent India in the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship.
As reported, she performed quite aggressively in her match by hitting her opponent with hand jabs.
In terms of sports, Nikhat is one of the most highly rated boxer in the Women’s boxing scene.
According to India Times, Nikhat has the potential to take the mantle from the legendary female boxer Mary Kom in a few years time.
In the final match which was held at Istanbul, Nikhat won the gold by an unanimous decision and was highly praised by all as she maintained her calm demeanour in the ring.
