17 year-old Shafali Verma of India Women’s Cricket team, became the youngest one ever to score fifty in both innings on Test debut against England on Friday.
Shafali batted on 55 not out off 68 balls at stumps on the third day of the one-off Test and so far hit 11 boundaries.
Verma continued to hold impression after she hit 96 in her first innings and hit six more boundaries in the second session. Deepti Sharma, another debutant who was promoted to number 3 after her purposive 29 not out in the first innings, was giving Verma company at the crease on 18 not out.
