On Monday, the Four-time Grand Slam singles champion Naomi Osaka unveiled her very own Role Model Barbie doll, expressing on Instagram that bringing the toy to life has been a “dream”.
Designed by Carlyle Nuera, the Osaka doll is part of the Barbie Role Models Doll line featuring inspiring women from around the globe to make the iconic toy line more diverse with dolls based on different role models and professions. The Role Model Naomi Osaka Barbie doll is donning Naomi’s 2020 Australian Open.
“I want young girls everywhere to feel empowered to dream big and to know that if they believe in themselves that anything is possible!” wrote Osaka announcing the collaboration. “It’s such an honour to be a part of the Barbie Role Model series, and to remind young girls that they can make a difference in the world,” she added.
