Temporary and contractual recruitment of 9 Scientists, Research Assistants, Laboratory Technicians, MTS, and Data Entry Operators under the “Setting up of State Level Viral Research & Diagnostics Laboratory (VRDL) under the Scheme entitled Establishment of a network of Laboratories for managing Epidemics and Natural Calamities” funded by ICMR-DHR, Government of India, in the Department of Microbiology.
1. Scientist C (Medical)
No. of posts: 1
Required Educational Qualification: A postgraduate degree in microbiology (MD/MS/DNB) with one year of research/teaching experience or a postgraduate diploma in microbiology with two years of research/teaching experience in the required field from a recognized university, or
an MCI-accredited MBBS degree, or an equivalent degree from a recognized university, with four years of R&D/teaching experience in the appropriate subject following the MBBS degree, or
BDS/B.V.Sc.& AH Degree recognized by DCI/VCI, with 5 years of R&D/teaching experience in the relevant subject following the BDS/B.V.Sc. Degree.
Salary: Rs. 67,000 + HRA per month

2. Scientist C (Non-Medical)
No. of Post: 1
Required Educational Qualification: After completing a B. Tech. in Biotechnology, six years of R&D or teaching experience in the appropriate field, or
A first-class master’s degree in microbiology/biotechnology from a recognized university, followed by four years of R&D/teaching experience in the relevant discipline, or
Alternatively, a second-class M. Sc. + Ph. D. in Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university with four years of R&D/teaching experience in the relevant topic following the M. Se. + Ph.D.
Salary: Rs. 67,000 + HRA per month
Age Limit: 40 years as of April 1, 2021.
3. Scientist B (Non-Medical)
No. of Post: 1
Required Educational Qualification: BE/B. Tech in Biotechnology with 2 years of experience or an equivalent degree from a recognized university, or
A Master’s degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology with first class from a recognized university, or
Alternatively, a second-class M. Sc. and a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized university.
Salary: Rs. 56,000 + HRA per month
Age Limit: 35 years as of April 1, 2021.
4. Research Assistant
No. of Post: 2
Required Educational Qualification: A postgraduate degree in a related subject
Desirable Educational Qualification :
Microbiology/Virology research experience
Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/Data Management knowledge
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 35,000 per month for one post; Rs. 31,000 per month for one post
Age Limit: 35 years as of April 1, 2021.
5. Laboratory Technician
No. of Post: 2
Required Educational Qualification: B.Sc./intermediate with a Medical Laboratory Technology diploma or a high school diploma with 5 years of lab experience
Desirable Educational Qualification :
Three years of experience in microbiology, ideally in virology and molecular biology
Computer Application Knowledge
ELISA experience
Salary: Rs. 20,000 + HRA per month
Age Limit: 40 years as of April 1, 2021
6. Multi-Tasking Staff
No. of Post: 1
Required Educational Qualification: High School/ Matric/ equivalent from a recognized Board
Desirable Educational Qualification :
One year of laboratory experience in a recognized institute/health care setting
Computer application knowledge
Salary: Rs. 18,000 per month consolidated
Age Limit: 30 years as of April 1, 2021
7. Data Entry Operator
No. of Post: 1
Required Educational Qualification: Graduate of a recognized institution with experience in MS Office and data entry.
Desirable Educational Qualification :
Minimum one-year experience in a related field in a reputable office
BCA/B.Sc. (IT) or equivalent from a recognized university/institution would be given preference.
Ability to troubleshoot computers, printers, and network connectivity with a basic understanding of software and hardware
Ability to prepare health-related reports.
Typing speed: 40 words per minute
Salary: Rs. 20,000 per month consolidated
Age Limit: 30 years as of April 1, 2021
