First case of the new covid 19 variant XE reported in Mumbai today. As of now no new and severe symptoms have been reported so far.
First case of XE variant in Mumbai
Mumbai has reported a fresh case of the new variant of XE that was first reported in the United Kingdom.
The case has been confirmed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Along with the Xe variant , krappa variant is also reported. As of today, there has been no severe symptoms experienced by the victims.
According to the recent report released by WHO, the new variants can be highly transmissible. The first case was reported in the UK in the initial week of january and a total of 637 cases have been reported.
XE variant is a mutilated variant of the BA’1 and BA’2 omicron variant.
these mutilation are a cause of many variants mixing together when a person gets infected.
A total of 230 samples of patients were sent for tsting and out thetotal 228 have been tested for omicron and one each with new variants, XE and Krappa respectively.
Not any of the patients required Intensive care or needed oxygen.
