Dibrugarh University hostels have been declared as Micro Containment zones due to which elections have also been postponed.
As per a notice used by Dibrugrah University Jyoti Batsora Gate, N.G.H hostel and few other girls’ hostels have been declared as Micro Containment zones.
The following girls’ hostels have been declared as Micro Containment zones:
1) Aideo Handique Girls’ hostel
2)Joymoti Girls’ hostel
3) Padmakumari Gohai Girls’ hostel
4) Pushpalata Das Girls’ hostel
5) Nalinibala Devi Girls’ hostel
6) Swarnalata Baruah Girls’ hostel
Dibrugarh University elections postponed
Also, as per the notice, the DUPGSU election which was scheduled on 10 January 2022, has also been postponed.
The new date for the election has not been notified yet. However, the notice further read that a 2 day gap will be given. There will be at least 2 days of gap between the notification of the new election date and the date of the poll.
Reportedly, 14 new cases of Covid-19 were reported from Dibrugarh University.
