Brisbane has long seemed to be in a one-horse race to host the 2032 Olympics. The race looks sure as Brisbane could be offered as the 2032 Olympics host for International Olympic Committee members to confirm in Tokyo next month.
IOC president Thomas Bach said after an executive board meeting that Brisbane can be awarded hosting rights at a July 21 meeting ahead of the Tokyo Olympics opening on Thursday.
Whereas, Australia’s top Olympic official John Coates said that Brisbane winning the right to host the 2032 Summer Games is not a done deal yet. The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris, with the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
