Two minor sisters of a village in Kokrajhar, Assam found hanging from a tree on Friday. The family of the girls alleges it to be a rape and murder case.
The incident took place inside a small forest in Abhayakuti village. Immediately after recovering the bodies of the siblings, they were sent to Kokrajhar Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Reportedly they went missing on Friday afternoon. “A case has been registered. A preliminary investigation suggested that the two girls suspected ended their lives. We will be able to tell after receiving the post-mortem reports,” the senior officer said.
