In the early hours of Monday, November 22 a truck fell from Kolia Bhomora Bridge into the Brahmaputra river in Tezpur, Assam. However, both the truck and the persons in the truck are missing.
How did the accident take place?
The truck was heading towards Nagaon from Tezpur when the driver lost control of its wheel and crashed through the railing, and fell from the bridge.
As per reports, both the driver and handyman of the truck have not been recovered and still missing.
Rescue operation underway
The NDRF-SDRF team has been carrying out search and rescue operations for the driver and the handyman that fell into the river. Speaking to the Media, Sonitpur SP Dhananjay P Ghanawat said that strong currents of the river hampering the search operation.
