Arjuna Award winning veteran Indian shooter Sanjeev Rajput has been training in Croatia along with other Indian rifle and pistol shooters who are bound for Tokyo. In the course of the ongoing training Rajput is also getting acclimatized to the wind in Croatia which is more or less similar to the wind situation that he will encounter at the Tokyo Olympics.
The veteran shooter is likely to represent India in the 50m Rifle 3 Position category in Tokyo. This is Rajput’s third appearance in the Olympics as he has earlier represented the country at the 2008 Beijing and the 2012 London Olympics.
When Rajput was asked if he can win an Olympic medal at the age of 40, he gave a smart reply by saying that, “The easy reply to that – in capturing, age is irrelevant. Even if you happen to see most Olympic medalists in fashionable days are on the incorrect facet of 30 and nearer to 40. I suppose Warren Potent (Australian shooter) as soon as received a medal when he was 50+. Even in this World Cup (in Croatia), somebody like Rajmond Debevec (58 12 months outdated Slovenian shooter), has performed the finals.”
