Earlier today the Guwahati Municipal Corporation(GMC) had made 50 parking slots free in the city. They will be for public use.
Starting from flyovers like Aathgaon flyover, Sixmile flyover, Ulubari flyover to parts of G.S road, Express highway, 50 such are allowed for free parking. Well, the decision is taken keeping in mind after defaulter renters failed to clear dues owed to GMC against allotted parking lots.
The official notification stated, “In the interest of public service and supersession of all earlier orders. I am directed to inform all concerned that the parking slots of the defaulter lessees who have failed to deposit installments to Guwahati Municipal Corporation shall remain free for the public till the settlement of fresh tender for the FY 2021-22 or till they clear the dues, whichever is earlier.”
