Russian software developer Alexander Zhadan recently made headlines for his odd use of artificial intelligence on the dating platform Tinder. Zhadan used a ChatGPT bot to match with over 5,000 women.

It eventually led to a proposal for the one he found most compatible. The 23-year-old admitted that he occasionally scheduled six dates a day using AI, which managed tasks varying from scheduling dates to making small talk on his behalf.

Zhadan revealed that he refined multiple variations of the ChatGPT bot over time, incorporating filters to identify suitable matches and streamline communication. Despite the significant role the AI played in his dating life, Zhadan’s fiancée, Karina, was initially unaware of its involvement. It was not until they submitted paperwork to the registrar’s office that she learned about the AI’s influence, reacting calmly to the revelation.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti. “I gave ChatGPT information about how I communicate. At first, there were problems because the program didn’t know me, it could write some kind of nonsense, but later I trained it to such an extent that it began to interact with girls like me,” Zhadan stated, according to the agency.
