At present, where India is trying hard to come out of the devastation caused by the 2nd wave of Covid-19, citizens are in full-on travel mode, flouting every covid norms and procedures.
One such instance is from Haridwar, Uttarakhand. People are flocking to Har Ki Pauri after Haridwar as the state eased covid-19 restrictions. One tourist even went on to say, “We feel like we have come out of jail after 2 years. There is a huge crowd. We are not scared of Covid-19. We have come before the 3rd wave.”
To this, Abhay Singh, Circle Officer (City) Haridwar, stated, “We are trying to make people aware and we had a meeting with hotel and vanshala unions. Everyone wants to see Har ki Pauri. After a certain limit, we are requesting remaining travellers to not go to ghat.”.
The pandemic might worsen if people do not restrict themselves at this moment.
