A wall of a salt packing business at Halvad GIDC in Gujarat Morbi district collapsed on Wednesday, killing at least 12 workers, according to news agency reports.
The tragedy occurred at Sagar Salt Factory in Gujarat Morbi
According to the state labor and employment minister and local MLA Brijesh Merja, the terrible tragedy occurred at the Sagar Salt factory, which is located within the Halvad industrial region in Gujarat Morbi.
“There have been at least 12 manufacturing workers killed. Others who may have been trapped under the debris are still being rescued “he said.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has announced ex gratia payments of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the families of those killed in the event.
Moreover, the injured would be compensated with $50,000.
