The aftermath of the communal violence that broke out in Madhya Pradesh on 10th of April, 2022, many buildings were seen to be bull dozed. These homes mostly of the one community were seen to be destroyed followed by the violence on the day of Ram Navami. Many critics have claimed that such measures taken by the MP government has no legal justification.

After Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat also demolished houses
The government of Madhya Pradesh bull dozed houses in Khargaon of those who were illegally squatting on public lands. A similar measure was also reported from Gujarat in the Khambhat region.
The opposition party of Gujarat, Congress MP and former lawyer has critisied the government’s move by calling it ‘lawlessness’. Majeed Memon wrote in his twitter handle that, “Now in Gujarat- bulldozing politics is bulldozing Rule of Law. Let courts take cognisance of this state of lawlessness and act.
Not only houses but shops and other establishments have also been torn down in Gujarat. As per reports, the ruling government in Gujarat are bull dozing properties that fall under ‘encroachment’. Both incidents have had sharp criticism by the people and the opposition in general.

According to an interview with the Republic, AIMIM chief questioned the audience and the government alike that if the houses were illegal then why weren’t they demolished before Ram Navami. He further added that, “They have been demolishing houses from yesterday or day before yesterday on wards because you decided that stone-pelting was done from these houses. You have complete disregard for the Judiciary and Law. This is completely illegal”.
As per the reports from MP police department, 84 people have been arrested so far in the case of the violence that broke out in Khargaon. According to Pawan Sharma, ‘the rioters will not be spared. Three employees has been fired and one arrested for spreading mis information. The government has a zero tolerance policy in this matter.”

As per the reports from Ajit Rajiyan who is the SP of Anand District made a statement that, “As part of a pre-planned conspiracy, stones were hurled during the Ram Navami procession in Khambhat. The motive of the accused was that once the Ram Navami procession was stoned and threatened , no such religious procession would take place in the future”.
