ITANAGAR: A prime example of where people’s unity and willpower can overcome any adversity was recently shown by villagers of Arunachal Pradesh who completed rebuilding a bridge over the Siyom river with their own resources. The particular bridge over the Siyom river collapsed and washed away on June 29.
The Bailey bridge, known as the Sanggam Bailey bridge, collapsed on June 29. The bridge connected Pangin and Boleng in Arunachal Pradesh’s Siang district. Three people were also reported missing after the incident.
The newly built suspension bridge is the villagers’ own making. After the report was posted on the internet, people applauded the villagers for their efforts to reconnect the two areas.
