“Nothing wrong in working hard”: Video of a 12-year-old delivering newspaper goes viral

A video of a 12-years-old school-going boy distributing newspapers in Telangana went viral. The video was shared by a Minister in the Telangana government, K T Rama Rao. It shows the young boy from Jagtial Town distributing newspapers at doorstep on his bicycle.

The boy in the video is identified as Jai Prakash, who was seen with a basket full of newspapers then a man stopped him and asked why he was delivering newspapers at this age, the boy responded saying, “what’s wrong?” in Telugu. The boy also said that there is nothing wrong with working hard as it will help him in future.

MLA KT Rama Rao praises the boy

The video was also noticed by MLA KT Rama Rao who reposted it on Twitter saying, “Loved this video from Jagtial Town. This young lad, a Govt school student called Jai Prakash, loved his confidence, composure and clarity of thought & expression. He says what’s wrong in working while studying and goes on to say it’ll keep him in good stead in future.”

Citizens decided into two parts, some praised while some criticized

The video has gone viral and crossed 190K views and has gained over 20K likes. Alo with the minister many of the netizens lauded the boy. However, there are some who wondered if the boy was under-aged to work and not getting proper facilities to study.

One user wrote, “We should teach our next generation the same – DIGNITY OF LABOUR !!!”

Then a second user wrote praising his work, “For his maturity and confidence, This kid should inspire many people here,if family isn’t stable there’s nothing wrong for helping his parents by working part-time alongwith his studies. He has a great future . God bless him.”

Another one tweeted saying , “But appreciation is okay . some scholarship should be started equivalent to his earning. This is not the right age for a child to work and earn even if he is willing. Kindly look into.
