Suresh Raina Retires From All Forms Of Cricket Including IPL

Suresh Raina announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on September 6. In this regard, Suresh Raina wrote on microblogging site Twitter, ”It has been an absolute honor to represent my country and state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank BCCI, UPPCA (Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association), Chennai Super Kings, Rajiv Shukla sir and my fans for all their support and unwavering faith in my abilities.”

It may be noted that since 2018, Suresh Raina had not featured in a List A. In 2002-03, Raina made his debut for Uttar Pradesh. In 2005, he played 302 games in scoring, 8078 runs and taking 64 wickets against Madhya Pradesh.

Significantly, Raina finished his career with 5528 runs. He is considered as one of the most successful battlers in the Indian Premier League. Raina was a part of the franchise CSK, however, it was banned from IPL in 2016 and 2017, then Raina led Gujarat Lions.

In this regard, Raina further stated, ”I will feature in the Road Safety world series which starts on September 10. Franchises from South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE have approached me till now. Once the situation gets cleared, I will inform everyone myself.”
