‘Squid Game’ to be held in UAE? Exciting news for fans; Read to know

While many Squid Game viewers recoiled in horror looking at the tasks that struck the players, a few completed the game with the mind of getting into themselves.

Now, a few viewers really can strive their hand on the titular Squid Game because the United Arab Emirates is hosting its very own real edition of this version.

The game to be a real-life experience

Korean Cultural Centre of Abu Dhabi makes announcement

On Tuesday, October 12, the Korean Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates announced that it will be hosting its “KCC Squid Game Event”—a reenactment of the popular Netflix series. Over three hundred hopefuls applied, however only two groups of 15 participants each will be capable of completing the task.

Closely based on the fictional Squid Game, the game will see contestants get dressed up in identical costumes because the show’s actors, at the same time, staff will put on the iconic circle, triangle, and square outfits.

The event will also include 4 of the six games from the K-Drama, omitting the eponymous squid game and the tug-of-war round. It may also add the game of ddakji to the roster, which the Salesman (Gong Yoo) performed with Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) in episode one.

No person will die!

There are simply key variations among the “KCC Squid Game Event” and Netflix’s version of the show—naturally, no person will die in the games, and there’s additionally no prize cash to be won.

Instead, the Korean Cultural Center hopes that the event will encourage people of the United Arab Emirates to know more about  Korean culture.

Safety protocols to be followed

To make the game secure for participants, sponge weapons will be used rather than actual weapons, and the game of glass stepping stones might be performed on a flat floor rather than hundreds of feet above the air. 

If this event is successful, it will be able to even provide more games like Squid Games held across the world—likely with the promise of prize cash too.
