The Government of Sikkim has organised a wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, December 20, to pay respects to Chief Defense of Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife, Mrs. Madhulika Rawat & all Army officers & jawans who died in the helicopter crash on 8th December in Tamil Nadu.
The Governor of Sikkim, Ganga Prasad, and Chief Minister P S Tamang Golay were present at the event and paid tributes to the departed souls.

About The Chopper Crash
CDS General Bipin Rawat, along with his wife and 11 armed forces personnel, died in an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, December 8.
The Black Box of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Helicopter that crashed was found and taken away for further investigation. The officials said the black box was retrieved by the authorities expanding the search area from 300 metres to one km from the spot where the Helicopter crashed. The black box would provide crucial data on the chain of events leading to the unfortunate accident.
