Explosive wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant has tested positive for the novel COVID-19 infection in England on Thursday as per the PTI report.
The Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajiv Shukla confirmed that no other player has been affected by the virus and also said that Pant has been quarantined immediately and he will not be joining the India squad to play the Durham practice match ahead of England test series match.
“Yes, one player has tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last eight days. He was not staying in any hotel with the team, so no other player has been affected,” Rajiv Shukla told PTI.
Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has also sent a mail to the Indian squad, warning them about the alarming spike in COVID-19 cases in England.
