According to some serious assertions, an attempted rape case has been filed against Jacob Khaling, political secretary of Sikkim’s chief minister.

As per the sources, the information came out on Sunday by Sikkim Nagarik Samaj (SNS).

By SNS

SNS said that the FIR was registered on July 6 before the SP of East Sikkim district via post after the police from that area reportedly ‘failed’ to file the case against the political secretary.

“Serious allegations have been levelled against Jacob Khaling. So, we want him (Khaling) to be removed from all government posts that he is currently holding for the sake of a fair investigation,” the SNS said.

The case is politically motivated

Meanwhile, Jacob Khaling has made his statement that the case filed against him is politically encouraged.

“Opposition after failing politically, now has started to attack people from the government personally with baseless allegations,” said Khaling

The civil society organization has raised a demand to Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang to dismiss Khaling from the position of his political secretary in order to get a “fair investigation”.

Complaint by the civil society

Submission of a complaint letter to Sikkim director general of police SD Negi by the civil society was also revealed via sources that seek updates on the FIR that was registered a month ago.

SNS considered the accused to be Jacob Khaling, who is the senior leader of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party and also a Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sikkim. He was accused of attempts to molestation, rape, and other cognizable issues.

According to SNS, the police are more interested in protecting him rather than serving justice to his victim.

SNS  has also demanded police put the political secretary under custody and immediate dismissal from his respective posts. SNN also said the SKM party had turned Sikkim into a ‘Jungle Raj.’
