According to a report by Pratidin Time, Pijush Hazarika’s result came on Thursday evening. The minister is currently under home isolation.

“I tested COVID positive yesterday,” Hazarika tweeted. I’m in home isolation with mild symptoms, and I’m following all COVID rules and standards. Those who have come into contact with me are asked to take the proper steps.”
Will soon be shifted to GMCH
According to reports, he will be shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.
Surge in cases across Assam
According to reports from the Assam Health Department, the daily positive rate increased from 0.77 percent to 2.37 percent in the last week.
Out of Assam’s 34 districts, Kamrup (Metro) district (which includes the capital Dispur and the main metropolis of Guwahati) reported the most active cases on Thursday, with 369 active cases, followed by 57 in Jorhat, 52 in Kamrup (Rural), and 50 in Darrang.
Assam has registered 591 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, a rise of over 100 infections over the previous day.
