Nagaland’s Mon district won national award for e-Governance 2020-21 (Silver).
In the recently held 24th National Conference for e-Governance at Hyderabad Mon district was awarded.
Mon district won for ‘Use of ICT in the Management of COVID-19’
As per a press release the award was given to Mon district under the category of ‘Use of ICT in the Management of COVID-19’.

The release stated, The initiative, titled “Technology in Aid to Administration”, used various emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Deep Learning to manage the COVID pandemic and reduce the hardship of the people.
The press release further stated, “Several private companies and NGOs were involved at various stages of the formulation and implementation of the initiative. This initiative had earlier won the SKOCH Award 2021 in a similar category. It is pertinent to note that there were a total of 231 entries from across the country in this category and only two districts were awarded”.

Thavaseelan K, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, received the award presented by the department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, India.

The award consisted of a trophy, a certificate, and cash prize of Rs 1,00,000.
The project head and team members from Mon district were Thavaseelan K; Vineet Kumar, SDO (Civil), Mon; and Ilika Zhimomi, SDO (Civil), Mon (HQ).
Reportedly, the main purpose of the award is to encourage incremental innovations in successful e-Governance solutions.
