A day after applauding our country’s Olympic Indian athletes at the 75th Independence Day celebration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted India’s Olympic contingent for breakfast at his residence.
Breakfast for Olympic Indian athletes at the Prime Minister’s residence
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the Olympic Indian Athletes for breakfast at his residence just a day after his speech yesterday.
Modi applauds the Indian athletes’ amazing performance at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday during our country’s 75th Independence Day at the Red Fort.
India’s hockey team that won a bronze medal at the Olympics is also seen chatting with Modi who’s examining a hockey stick. This is India’s first medal after 41 years at the Olympics in hockey.
Gold medalist and javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is seen interacting in a relaxed manner with the Prime Minister during the felicitation ceremony.
Moreover, PV Sindhu, the only Indian and first woman to win two Olympic medals was also present at the breakfast. Sindhu also brought her silver medal that she had won at the Rio Olympics five years ago.
Also, Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia from the wrestling contingent who returned with a silver and a bronze medal were also there.

India’s proud moment
Indian athletes made the whole country proud with their performance at the Tokyo Olympics. Our athletes came back home with seven medals which includes javelin Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold in track and field.
Other than the people present at the breakfast, other medalists include weightlifter Mirabai Chanu who won a silver medal on an opening day at the Olympics and bronze medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain.
Lastly, India’s women’s hockey team who almost bagged a bronze exceeded all expectations was also present at the breakfast along with other contingents.
