In a first from the Northeast, Meghalaya’s Phoebe Dale Nongrum is on her way to debut in the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) 2021, to be held from December 17 to December 19 in Vishakapatnam.

Hailed as one of India’s first women Formula 4 drivers, Nongrum shoulders the responsibility of representing the entire Northeast in category 4 of INRC.

Phoebe is sponsored and supported by the promoter of INRC Vamshi Merla. Additionally, tyre giants MRF will also be one of the supporters.

The INRC is a car rallying series organised by the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI) which acts as the governing body of India and is given due recognition by FIA (Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile). The winners are dubbed as the National Champion Driver and Co-Driver.

In one of her candid moments, Phoebe Dale offered gratitude to Vamshi Merla for his unconditional support for promoting women in motorsports and taking a chance with her in this rally. She also thanks MRF and hopes to achieve great things.

Her earlier achievements include a historic third finish in the 23rd JKtyre National Racing Championship 2020 making her the first from the Northeast to achieve this feat.
