SHILLONG: The third body from the illegal coal mine of Meghalaya’s East Jaintia hills was recovered by an Indian Navy divers team.
As per the reports, 5 miners got trapped in this coal mine on May 30 due to a dynamite explosion. The body was retrieved by the divers of the Indian Navy from the flooded mine.
An official announcement was made by the District Comissioner, which stated, “We have informed the relatives of the victims from Cachar, Barpeta and Kamrup districts in Assam and North Tripura district through their respective Superintendent of Police to identify the retrieved bodies.”
