Lachit Divas At The Royal Global University: The Royal Global University, Guwahati commemorated Lachit Divas on November 24 to observe the 400th birth anniversary of Ahom General Lachit Borphukan at the Lachit Statue which was unveiled by Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Govt. of India, earlier on November 11, 2022 in the campus of the University.

The event was graced by Chancellor of the University, Dr. A.K. Pansari, Pro Chancellor, Shri A.K. Modi, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, Mr. Ankur Pansari, Executive Vice President, Gyan Sagar Foundation, and other senior members of the fraternity.
The Department of History exhibited informative pieces of media at the event, which was followed by a short skit, based on street play format, covering the life and times of the great General, presented by Royal Rangmanch, a dramatic club of the university.
Sigma Voice, the Literary Club organised on the spot essay writing competition as a tribute to the great hero, wherein students from across various disciplines participated.
The day was wound up by a Bonti Projolon session at the same venue in the evening. Moreover, the Department of Mathematics, Department of Computer Science and Royal School of Information Technology in association with Institute Innovation Council (IIC) organized a talk on the ‘Importance Of Mathematics And Computer Science In Cyber Security’.
Notably, Prof. (Dr.) Avishek Adhikari, Professor and HoD, Department of Mathematics, Presidency University, Kolkata, graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker.
