Kalu Singh Tamang is the father of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. Due to Kalu Singh Tamang’s demise his entire family is shattered and have extended immense debt of gratitude to Union Home minister Amit Shah, Union Law minister Kiren Rijiju, Governor Ganga Prasad, Uttarakhand Tourism minister Satpal Ji Maharaj for their kind support through condolence letters and concern at the time of bereavement. His Father Late Kalu Singh Tamang breathed his last on February 9.
Similarly, the Chief Minister has also extended his gratitude to the Chief Justice, High Court of Sikkim, Justice Biswanath Somadder, Judges of High Court of Sikkim and other courts, former Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, cabinet ministers, MLAs, former MPs, retired personnel and officials and other dignitaries for their kind and uninterrupted support.
He also extended his gratitude to the chief secretary, Government of Sikkim, DGP of Sikkim, additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and other officials, Government of Sikkim, for their kind support through letters, messages and personal presence extended during the time of bereavement in his family.
Kalu Singh Tamang’s son extends gratitude
The Chief Minister has also extended his heartfelt thanks to the MLAs and other dignitaries coming all the way from neighbouring States. He also thanked the people coming from all over Sikkim despite of all the hurdles due to the unbearable climatic conditions.
He has expressed his gratitude to all the clubs, volunteers, students and individuals who have extended their support in managing all the difficult tasks at the time of this bereavement, with their full dedication.
It was indeed a big task to manage the continuous prayer offering event to the departed soul as the presence of the well-wishers had been indeed abundant.
Despite these facts, the local gentry, youths, NGOs, local bodies, administration and various societies in addition to the entire public have extended their tireless support that has made the whole span of the hour much easier, for which the Chief Minister and his family have extended their heartfelt gratitude.
The mortal remains of Late Kalu Singh Tamang were cremated at Singdhap cremation ground in Soreng, today.
During the last rites, the grieving family of Tamang were joined by cabinet ministers, MLAs, heads of departments of Sikkim government and other dignitaries for the final procession along with all his relatives and well-wishers.
