On October 19, a Junior Assistant of Dibrugarh DTO and an agent has been arrested for accepting bribe.
As per reports, Assam Polic and the Anti-Corruption team arrested a junior assistant, identified as Diptimoni Gogoi and agent Pankaj Saikia for their alleged involvement in corrupt pratices.

According to reports, Gogoi took a bribe from agent Pankaj Saikia. The team caught one Lat Mandal red-handed while accepting a bribe on October 15.
The accused Lat Mandal who has been identified as Md Abdul Baki Seikh was trapped by the team under Jorhat Revenue Circle, based on a complaint against processing of land-related documents.
The accused was caught red-handed while incriminating documents.
Earlier, Assam Police arrested a DTO officer from Kokrajhar who has been identified as Sameswar Brahma Muchahary during a late-night operation. A sum of Rs. 36 lakhs in cash were also recovered during the operation.
