Johnny Depp who had accused his former wife Amber Heard of defamation gets grilled in the court room on Monday. The lawyers of Amber Heard ended the marathon grilling by playing an audio tape in front of a seven member jury.
Johnny Depp accused of beating his wife
The tape consisted recordings of arguments between the two. Johnny Depp can be heard saying, ‘shut up fat ass’ to his former wife in one of the recordings that was played in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
On the other hand, Amber Heard accused Johnny Depp of physical violence and stated that he had raised his hand at her. She described it as, “beating the shit out of her” and throwing a “swing at her”. In counter to her allegation, Johnny Depp denied all of these accusation that was put against him and repeatedly said at the trial that she one the violent one in the relationship.
The pirates of the caribbean star filed a defamation case against his former wife in 2018 for her coloumn in washing post about domestic abuse. The post did not mention his identity but Depp sued her $50 million dollars. In response, Amber Heard countersued him and asked for a $100 million dollar for “rampant physical violence and abuse”.
According to reports, Johnny Depp said that allegations against him as being ‘a drunken, cocaine-fueled menace who beat women’ have cost him everything. He was also taken out from Disney’s ‘Pirates’ franchise.
