The circumstantial death of Late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s inquiry concluded on Tuesday.

J Jayalalithaa’s controversial death

Former AIADMK spokesperson who was expelled from AIADMK last year –  submitted all the documents and paper work and requested for the inquiry to be made against former Chief Minister K Palaniswami. But the request was not granted by the commission.

Several witnesses including Jayalalithaa’s niece and nephew along with the doctors had raised questions regarding the circumstantial death. A total of 159 witnesses deposed before the commission. As per sources, VK Sasikala who was a confidante of Jayalalithaa filed an Affidavit in 2018 that pointed the circumstances that led to her death in 2016. The hearing was commenced on 2017.

According to the Doctors of AIIMS who treated the late Chief Minister helped the commission in all the medical assistance as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

The commission is now all geared up to commence on the 24th of June.

As per reports, the government made reference to the commission in 2017 “to inquire into the circumstances and situation leading to the hospitalisation of the late Chief Minister on 22 nd of September 2016 and the subsequent treatment provided till her unfortunate demise on 5th of December 2016.”
