The iPhone 14 series will be introduced in September 2022, and the rumor mill has been buzzing over the four smartphones that will be produced as part of it.
According to a recent claim from AppleInsider, the forthcoming iPhone 14 series smartphones will include a higher-end selfie camera with built-in focus.
iPhone 14 to have a high-end selfie camera
According to the source, these new “high-end selfie cameras” will be produced in South Korea and would cost three times as much as the previous iPhone series’ front-facing cameras.
The Cupertino-based tech company has also severed connections with its Chinese supply chain partner, according to a report.
Moreover, Apple has chosen LG Innotek of South Korea to design the new front-facing camera. This shift is the result of quality worries about Chinese manufacturers and Apple designating the front-facing camera as a “high-end” component rather than a “low-end” one.
Apple had previously stated that LG Innotek would be the supplier for the iPhone 15 model, which is expected to be introduced in 2023. However, it appears that the corporation has pushed back its intentions until 2022.
Earlier claims from several media publications and analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo, stated that the future iPhone 14 variants would have different front-facing cameras.
This latest research backs up rumors that the iPhone 14 would have an updated front camera with focusing for better FaceTime chats and selfies.
Kuo also speculated that the updated selfie cameras could have a larger aperture, which would improve Portrait mode capabilities on the next iPhone models.
In addition, Kuo also said that all four iPhone 14 models will receive the enhanced front camera, however, this is not mentioned in the new report.
