WhatsApp will eventually discontinue support for several outdated iPhones. WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned messaging app, is expected to discontinue support for iOS 10 and 11.
Moreover, the news was shared by WABetalnfo, a WhatsApp development tracker.

iPhones that will no longer support the WhatsApp feature
According to the report, the instant messaging platform would no longer support previous versions of iOS, such as iOS 5 and iOS 5C.
However, there is no need to be concerned because organizations are always making modifications to improve the security and privacy of their customers.
In the coming months, iOS users running iOS 10, iOS 11, or lower will no longer be able to send WhatsApp messages, images, videos, or utilize any of the platform’s other services. The Meta-owned messaging platform will discontinue support for iOS 5 and iOS 5C.

According to the source, WhatsApp will discontinue supporting the aforementioned iPhones on October 24, 2022, five months from now. These devices will be rendered useless.
iOS 12 and higher will be supported, allowing users to fully use WhatsApp features such as emoji reactions and others. Because iOS 12 is incompatible with the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C, users will be unable to use WhatsApp after the new changes are implemented.
As a result, if your iPhone or operating system is outdated, you will be unable to install the new version of WhatsApp, and it will soon cease to function. If you have an iOS 12 capable smartphone that has not yet been upgraded, you must do so immediately in order to continue using WhatsApp.
