A tragic loss of life of a man named Putul Bauri has been reported from the Dhansila area of Nagaon District after a herd of elephants attacked a man on the 5th of May 2022.
Elephant attack
As per reports, the incident took place when the victim was doing his daily chores in his house. A herd of elephants entered the residence leading to the death of the man.
The Forest Department immediately arrived at the scene and the body of the deceased was taken to the hospital for autopsy.
Many officials stated that the elephants-man conflict has been a series concern for the people living nearby the forested area. As these wild elephants roam around outside the forest in search of food.
The incident resulted due to Putul Bauri’s failed attempt in chasing away the wild ones that led to the elephants attacking the man.
Previously, a similar incident took place in Dibrugargh District of Assam after a man was squashed by an elephant at Sessa Nagaon Village on the 12th of April 2022.
