A massive fire engulfed Dibrugarh’s BCPL pr the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited in the Lepetkata area. The unfortunate incident took place in the wee hours of 26th of April 2022, at around 1:30 am.
BCPL fire
The fire started off in BCPL around midnight and continued to rise in flame even after an hour. The fire department were able to dose off the fire after several attempts. The incident has traumatic outputs with more than a lakh worth of goods were destroyed.
As per reports, the fire started off from the LLDPE unit or the Linear Low Density Polythene unit. Luckily, there were no casualty reported. Reportedly, the reason behind the fire has been suspected to be a short circuit in the company. However, the exac cause is yet to be discovered.
In terms of recent events, many cases of fire has been reported in the region wherein goods worth lakh destroyed and people getting severely injured.
