Harbhajan Singh unable to attend the ceremony due to KKR IPL campaign
Harbhajan Singh was unable to attend the ceremony because he is now in a bio-secure facility as part of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL campaign.
“If any institution accords respect, you accept that with utmost humility. If I have been conferred with an honorary sports doctorate by the university, it is because I played cricket and people have showered their love and affection for that. I am honoured to be conferred with the degree,” Harbhajan, who is 41 years old, stated.
Dr Harcharan Singh Ranauta suggested Harbhajan’s candidacy to the university
Dr Harcharan Singh Ranauta, vice-president of the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations, suggested Harbhajan’s candidacy to the French university (IFUNA).
Harbhajan also expressed gratitude to the jury that chose him.
“I would like to thank Dr John Thomas Parade, president Sorbon, Dr Vivek Choudhury, chairman, Sorbon International Convocation Committee (Celebrity), Dr Mukesh Tyagi, Sorbon International Convocation Committee, for finding me worthy enough.”
