Nihad Islam Hazarika won the title of Rapid Chess Tournament on Sunday which has been organised by Guwahati Academy on 15th May 2022. The event was held at the Academy premises of RG Baruah Road, Guwahati.

Nihad scored 5.5 points from 6 rounds and was unbeaten throughout the match. He beat Rishav Barman.
The second position occupied was Nalinakhya Kashyap who scored 5 points. Others including Prakash Nath, Jagarit Sinha and Subhangpran Kashyap secured 5 points each.
Dhanyata Goswami secured the first position for the Under-7 category, and Praharsh Choudhury secured the third position.
All the players were awarded cash prizes and trophies.
