Meanwhile, Minister Sanjoy Kishan, who is also a Tinsukia MLA, as well as Bhaskar Sharma and Punakon Baruah, MLAs from Margherita and Chabua, attended the meeting.

According to a press release from the DIPR, only the chairman of the Tinsukia Municipal Board, Jayanta Baruah, attended the meeting, along with the head of the Zilla Parishad and a few members from the Anchalik Panchayat.

Surprisingly, the majority of the elected members were not present for the meeting. The DISHA was established by the Central Government with the primary goal of facilitating better coordination among all of the district’s elected officials.

Moreover, Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Gowala, Sadiya MLA Bolin Chetia, as well as chairmen of five municipalities- Makum, Digboi, Margherita, Doomdooma, and Chapakhowa (Sadiya)- were conspicuously absent from the meeting, despite invitation letters reportedly sent to them from the office of the Deputy, according to sources.
