The Guwahati Municipal corporation GMC results of 2022 is underway. The counting is taking place at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre. As of now, the Bharatiya Janta Party or the BJP is leading in 30 wards in total while on the other hand, AGP has won 4 wards.

According to Guwahati’s leading news agency, The Assam Tribune, The BJP candidate named Basanti Kalita Dowerah has won from the 41 ward. The total vote of the candidate is close to 3499 votes. From ward number 2, Mukul Kalita has won with 3863 votes and lastly Manjula Devi from ward number 11 has won with a massive 6075 votes.
BJP’s alliance group AGP has won in total 4 wards – ward no 12 by Dipankar baishya, and ward no 13 by Purabi Talukdar.
Aam Aadmi Party which has slowly created a base in Assam has manged to win 1 ward – ward number 42 by Masuma Begum.

All the main parties has won atleast one ward except for the Congress which is still left to open its account.
This GMC election has been held after nine long years in Guwahati. Guwahati Municipal Corporation or GMC polls are all set to begin from tomorrow onwards. All the 60 wards will have the provision of EVM’s. This will be the first time that EVM will be included in the GMC poll elections. The starting of the election was on 22nd of April and today marks the GMC results counting day.
