Guwahati Municipal Corporation or GMC polls are all set to begin from tomorrow onwards. The election is going to be held after a gap of 9 years. All the 60 wards will have the provision of EVM’s. This will be the first time that EVM will be included in the GMC poll elections.

The campaigns done by all the political parties has woo the voters by promising them with different agendas. This time, the parties have tried to attract the voters by promising them a flood free and crime city, in addition piped water facilities will also be provided to housefolds.
There are in total 197 candidates who will be taking part in this election campaign.
The BJP was led by Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma while in the Dispur constituency it was led by Atul Bora.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Chief was led by Bhupen Borah . Another upcoming party, AAP or the Aam Aadmi Party which has had significant influence on the people of Assam is all set by making delhi based Atishi Marlena to led the campaign.
The campaign this time involved, door to visit and rallies in every nook and corner of the streets of Guwahati. Every other party aims to woo voters by promising them with better facilities if they are to be voted in power.
The elections will start tomorrow and the voting will be held on the 24th of April 2022.
