On Friday, November 26, Sportstar will host the first-ever North-East Sports Conclave in Guwahati, where a host of speakers will discuss major topics relating to the region’s sports ecosystem.
Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam’s Chief Minister, will share about his vision for the region’s sports development, while Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information, Broadcasting, and Youth Affairs and Sports, will deliver the keynote address virtually.

Who are going to attend
The presence of Olympic medalists Mirabai Chanu (silver medalist) and Lovlina Borgohain (bronze medalist) from Tokyo 2020 will be the centrepiece of the event.
A panel discussion on North-East Sports and Infrastructure will be one of the many elements of the full-day summit.
Jayanta Talukdar, Olympic archer, boxer Sarita Devi, gold medallist at the World Championship, and Tetea Hmar, secretary, Mizoram Football Association, will discuss traditional sports in the North-East.
There will also be a discussion on how to turn the North-East into India’s sports hub. Former Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia, Director – SAI, RC Guwahati, India hockey player Kothajit Singh, and Olympic bronze medalist M.C. Mary Kom will offer their perspectives.
Robert Romawia Royte (Mizoram Sports Minister), Bimal Bora (Assam Sports Minister), Larsing Ming Sawyan (President, Meghalaya Football Association), and Abu Metha are among those in attendance (Associate Vice-President, Athletics Federation of India & Secretary General Nagaland Olympic Association).
The Assam Directorate of Information and Public Relations, IOC, SBI, and LIC India will all be present at the Conclave. On the Sporstar website, readers may watch the Conclave live.
