Indian Railways earlier this year provided its vacant land near Assam’s Bogibeel Bridge for the creation of facilities of a floating restaurant to boost Assam’s tourism. However, Indian Railways is now planning to evict the restaurant and start a new business in its place.

In that vacant space, at the heart of River Brahmaputra, businessman Gautam Bardoloi constructed his famous Kanchanjangha Floating Restaurant. The floating restaurant, Kanchanjangha, employed a huge number of people in Assam.

People are protesting again such a heinous act as it seems Indian Railways failed to keep up with their promise which they made to the people of Assam earlier this year and hence took such a decision.
