A girl student named Kanakanjali Nath who is an National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer from Tripura shaved her head in order to help the cancer patients and donated her well-maintained hairs to the Odisha Hair Donation Organisation for the cancer-affected patients, who lost their hairs and are financially weak. The brave girl was motivated by the NSS motto ‘Not Me But You’.

The NSS volunteer of Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya in Kailashahar under Unakoti district of Tripura, about 140 km from Agartala city, compromising her external beauty, shaved off her hair and has gone bald to bring smiles to the cancer patients, who are undergoing treatment.
Kanakanjali Nath, is an Arts stream student, studying in the sixth semester and a resident of Kanchanpur. She asked a local barber and tonsured her head for the noble cause on Friday. According to her statement, she decided to shave off her head as the hairs would be used to make wigs for cancer patients, who are undergoing treatment.
Kanakanjali sent her hairs to the organization through a courier service. Since her school life, she was planning to do something for the cancer patients, but due to some problem, she could not donate her hair earlier, the volunteer said.
