The health department of Henan Province, China reported the first human infection with the H3N8 strain of bird flu virus on Tuesday.

China detects 1st human case of infection
A four year old boy is said to have been infected with the new strain of virus. He was first reportedly diagnosed with fever. However, the health department has stated that this infection has very less possibility of transmission among the masses.
As per reports, the boy was infected with the virus on 5th of April 2022 and was showing symptoms. He was also diagnosed to have infected the new strain of bird flu. According to the health department of China, the infection did not spread to who were in close contact with the boy. The boy was however in close contact with the farm animals that were raised at his home.
As per reports, this is the first time the variant has affected a human. Moreover, the risk of spreading the virus is relatively low among humans.
