Boxer Bishwamitra Chongtham from India flit into the semi-finals down with three of his opponents, satisfying themselves of at least a bronze medal at the ASBC Youth and Junior Boxing Championships in Dubai on August 22.

World Youth Championships bronze medallist, Bishwamitra evinced too hefty for Kazakhstan’s Kenzhe Muratul as he exhibited prompt move and hi-tech skills to taut an easy 5-0 win.

Abhimanyu Loura (92kg), Deepak (75kg) and Preeti (57kg) from India also successfully reached on to the semi-finals. Deepak, up against Iraq’s Dhurgham Karim in the middleweight quarterfinal, controlled the events from the term go. He dispensed an eddy of smash on his foe in the third round, obliging the umpire to end the match.
