On January 1, a 55-year-old man Parimal Kanji from West Bengal Kolkata started an incredible journey from Kolkata to Ladakh on a bicycle. He has been to Odisha, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, Srinagar, Kargil, and recently entered Himachal Pradesh. He plans to visit Uttarakhand, Nepal, Sikkim, Northeast, and then return to his home in Kolkata.
According to his statement, he dreams of going to all the places in India, and now he is living his dream. After crossing all the states of India, he talked to the state people about their food habits and lifestyle, and that gave him joy and happiness.
“Don’t want to spend my entire life in my homeplace and die with old memories. This is wrong. If you don’t have enough money to travel, then when your own pair will be helpful? Like I’m economically poor but this doesn’t mean that I’ll give an end to my dreams. A person is one step backward if you didn’t travel across your own India”.
He has completed 80% of this adventurous journey, and only 15% is left to complete. He left his home with 2100 rupees in his pocket which were borrowed from a friend of his. During the journey, he has collected from the places that he visited like a public donation. A Maharastra man gifted him a tent to live in. “I have never use any public transportation in my entire life, I always go to places in my cycle”.
The tourist is also planning for the next journey as he won’t be able to visit all the places. He stated that after completing his journey to Ladakh, he would return home and get some rest and again plan for his journey to the rest of India.
