Guwahati: The covid vaccination drive began in Assam a week ago, with vaccine Covaxin taking up most of the slots. Unlike the first dose registration, the slot and timing for the second dose are sent through an SMS update to the recipient, with their names mentioned. Strangely enough, earlier today, people received messages on their second dose under the wrong names, creating confusion.
The issue was highlighted after a few recipients took to Twitter to share the received messages. Several users shared snaps of the messages tagging Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, DC Kamrup Metro, and other relevant channels.
An hour ago, the people finally received the correct message with their names in the latest update. However, it created confusion and showed signs of mismanagement, which is not ideal for a nationwide vaccine drive.
