Apple and Google are the two dominating powers that today dominate the market. The Cupertino behemoth may now compete with Google in an area that is completely dominated by the latter, namely the search engine.

No other search engine comes close to Google’s popularity, but Apple may soon make things difficult for Google. iOS is expected to launch a new user-centric web search, according to rumors. iOS, on the other hand, wants to wait until January 2023 to launch the search engine.

Apple to introduce things at WWDC 2023

Apple is anticipated to introduce a number of things at WWDC 2023, according to tech blogger Robert Scoble. He believes Apple will release a search engine to compete with Google.

This rumor isn’t new; iOS has been linked to the debut of a search engine on numerous occasions. “Oh, and there’ll be a new search engine as well.” Will Siri ever be “smart?” he wondered in a series of tweets.

Scoble told TechRadar that the information he posted on Twitter is based on a combination of talks with sources and deduction. WWDC 2022, he also informed the publication, will be the most expensive product launch ever. He also predicted that the search engine would be unveiled in January.

Apple is likely to release iOS 16, iPad OS 16, watchOS 16, and macOS 13 at WWDC. The much-anticipated Always-On Display (AoD) functionality is expected to be included in the forthcoming software version.

Always-on displays are currently available from companies like Samsung, OnePlus, and others, and Apple is likely to include them in the iPhone 14 line-up, which is set to ship in September 2022.

The iPhone 14 Pro models are rumored to have a 120Hz refresh rate, while the new versions will apparently be able to alter the refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, saving battery life. When the AoD feature is enabled, the refresh rate will automatically reduce to 1Hz.

Leaks from Insiders Apple Pro predict that the M2 MacBook Air and M2 Mac mini will be unveiled at WWDC. The M2 chip, which is the M1 chip, will power the devices.

iOS was also rumored to be working on a new Mac mini with an M2 processor, as well as the Mac Pro, in addition to the MacBook Air 2022.
