On Monday, 16th May 2022, three people were killed and five others were injured in a road accident in lower Assam’s Barpeta district.
According to police, the accident occurred near Sarthabari in the Barpeta district when a speeding vehicle collided with four motorcycles.

However, three people died on the spot, while six others were critically hurt and were sent to Barpeta Medical College Hospital (BMCH).
Pranav Bhuyan, Chitta Bhuyan, and Hargovinda Deka have been identified as the deceased.
Moreover, Harbalabh Bhuyan, Hare Krishna Bhuyan, Surojit Deka, Manjit Bhuyan, and Gitumoni Bhuyan were among the injured.
The injured were immediately transferred to the hospital.
According to reports, the four-wheeler was on its way to Nalbari.
The vehicle’s driver and passenger are said to have fled the area shortly after the collision.
Furthermore, people who were angry vandalized the vehicle after the incident.
